We study immunity to and pathogenicity of emerging RNA viruses using tools in cellular, molecular, and structural biology

Welcome to the Raju Lab!

The major goal of the lab is train and educate the next-generation of scientists. We will accomplish this aim by working on fun and fundamental problems in biology. Along the way we expect to contribute to the field of viral immunology and possibly others…

We are interested in the molecular interactions between pathogens and their respective hosts. These interactions reveal fundamental aspects of biology that can be quite unexpected!

A major component of the laboratory is to study how immunity is achieved against viruses with a particular focus on B and T cells as key cell types mediating protective immunity.

We also identify and characterize key host molecules required for viral pathogenesis. Studying these interactions provides insight into tissue and species tropism of viruses a key feature of what makes them unique.

July 1, 2025: The laboratory is open, we are recruiting technicians, graduate students, and postdocs to the Raju Lab!
