Dr. Alan R. Saltiel is a Distinguished Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology at UC San Diego and Director of the Institute for Diabetes and Metabolic Health. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of insulin action and their role in metabolic diseases, including obesity and diabetes. With over 300 publications and 19 patents, Dr. Saltiel has significantly advanced our understanding of metabolic regulation and has contributed to the development of drugs for diabetes and cancer.
